Imports of chemicals from most markets have increased turnover

According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, in the first 3 months of 2018, total import turnover of chemicals was 1.15 billion USD, up by 22.7% over the same period in 2017. In particular, March 2018 reached 444.32 million USD, an increase of 56% compared to February 2018 and an increase of 17.3% compared to March 2017.

Vietnam's chemical products are imported from major markets such as Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Korea ...

In the first 3 months of 2018, China is the market providing the most chemicals for Vietnam, import turnover from this market is 343,52 million USD, about 30% of the total chemical import turnover, up 21.7% over the same period last year.

Taiwan is the second largest market after China, with the value of 152.8 million USD, up 19.4% over the same period last year, about 23.4% of the total chemical import turnover.

Korean market ranked third, bout 9.3% with 106.83 million USD, an increase of 34.3% compared to the same period in 2017. Thailand market accounted for 8.8%, reaching 100.82 million USD. , up 21.8%.

In general, in the first 3 months of this year, chemical imports from almost all markets increased their turnover compared to the same period last year; In which imports from Saudi Arabia increased the most by 329.4% over the same period, reaching 6.15 million.

Besides, some markets also saw a high increase over the same period such as: Russia increased by 314.5%, reached 9.52 million USD; Brunei increased by 154% to 5.56 million USD; Switzerland increased 127.4% to 3.03 million; Belgium increased 81.2% to 12.01 million USD.

However, chemical imports declined in some markets such as Hong Kong, Spain, Britain, Indonesia and South Africa with a corresponding reduction of 55.7%, 46%, 33%, 27.5% and 20% of turnover compared to the same period in 2017.
